Natural Beauty: Oatmeal Bath

1 Feb

Oatmeal is excellent for your skin, smells good, and leaves your skin feeling soft. An oatmeal bath is especially soothing to dry, itchy or inflamed skin. You can enjoy the following bath recipe for as long and as often as you like…

Ingredients:
1 cup of Oatmeal
½ – 1 cup of Milk
½ cup of Epsom salt
1 teaspoon of powdered Cinnamon (optional)
Nylon tights/sock
Scissors

1. Cut the toe off from an old pair of nylon tights or use a nylon sock, making sure there are no holes or runs where bath ingredients can escape. You can reuse the nylon after you have enjoyed your bath by rinsing and hanging to dry. Fill nylon with oatmeal, Epsom salt and cinnamon. Tie the top of your stocking securely. Make sure that you tie the knot high enough on the stocking that the ingredients can move around.
2. Fill the tub with relatively hot water. Pour milk into the tub under the running water from the faucet.
3. Place the filled nylon pouch in the tub at the opposite end of the running faucet. Allow to cool. As the tub cools to a tolerable temperature, the heat will cause the essences of oatmeal to disperse.
4. Step into the tub when it is tepid. Once in the bath, you can gently squeeze the oatmeal pouch to release more of the oatmeal liquid throughout the bath.

I recommend lighting vanilla or lavender scented candles for a relaxing environment.
Enjoy!

Definitely sounds stress free and so..oo relaxing, vanilla/lavender are my favorite fragrances for calm.

Have you heard of “Carol’s Daughter” an African American beauty product company?

If so, feedback would be appreciated.
